What the hell is that all about??? Apparently Unicef Paris decided to use the Smurfs in a poster to teach children about the horror of war. 
I’m 25 and this poster still traumatizes me. Holy crap. Smurfette is lying dead off to the side!!!

I got this in a forward. Well done, stuff like this should be marketed to parents now. They only show it after 9:00, i’m all for it.
Hmm.. That`s a really good point that Greg brought up. The message being an awareness campaign to remind people to allow kids to live a childhood without suffering the horrors of war. I went to Kosovo in 2001, and visited both Albanian and Serbian schools. The greater picture is complicated, but a strange observation was that the Serbian schools looked like they came out of the Sound of Music. It was a beautiful complete school, and the kids drew pictures of princesses, and flowers. Whereas… The Albanian school was a single room, without running water, and the only things the kids drew were images of their heroes, the guerilla force commanders. I`ve got a few photos, and images that I drew from the experience up on my Flickr site.

I thought it was the belgians or something, but it’s only being shown at night (after bedtimes) and actually is a super-effective message. It looks unnecessarily graphic there, but it starts with the smurfs playing, and then war comes out of nowhere. The message is that kids should be allowed to have a childhood and not suffer the horror of war. I think it’s actually super-awesome.
Whoa~~ That^s pretty crazy, but it has certainly caused me to put off declaring war with the neighboring villages for the next little while. (If you hadn’t shown that poster, the soon to be formed ‘Mitoyo’ city would have led a campaign to comquer most of West Kagawa. Thanks for putting things in perspective. I’ll call off the ‘army’ of Tanuki and Inoshishi I had sent down Route 32.’
